Grants Process
Phase I: Letter of Inquiry
The Charles H. Revson Foundation welcomes letters of inquiry from prospective grantees. Letters should be no longer than two pages and include:
- Revson program area of proposed project:
- Urban Affairs: New York City;
- Jewish Philanthropy and Education; or
- Education
- Biomedical Research
[Grants in this area are considered by invitation only]
- Brief description of project and of sponsoring organization
- Amount requested
Please allow up to 90 days for a response from the Revson Foundation. The Foundation cannot accept telephone inquiries.

Phase II: Proposal
In response to a letter of inquiry, the Foundation may invite the submission of a complete proposal. Upon receipt of such a request, prospective grantees should send a proposal that includes:
- Sponsoring organization
- Brief mission statement
- Founding date and selected accomplishments
- Project
- Purpose
- Description and context
- Project leader and principal staff members
- Plan of action and timeline
- Anticipated outcomes
- Proposed measures of progress
- Funding
- Purpose
- Project budget
- Current organizational budget
- Other funding sources of project and amounts committed, past and current
- Fiscal sponsor and/or payee
- Appendices
- Board of directors and affiliations
- Positions and brief biographies of senior staff members
- Copy of IRS tax-exempt letter
- Most recent audited financial statement
It is a requirement of the Charles H. Revson Foundation that proposals include a complete audited financial statement. The “Independent Auditor’s Report” on the first page must be dated and signed.
Receipt of proposals will be acknowledged by e-mail. Please note that the review process can take several months.
